    Default No nute grow?

How much medium not to nute? We need to add nutes to soil grows in order to feed the plant but if you have enough high quality soil to start with then surely there will be a point at which you don’t need to add anything but water. My question is how big a pot do you need to go all the way through adding no extra nutes and not having to adjust for ph, not having to do all that stuff because the high quality soil/compost mix is enough. I am about to try with 30 litres of John Innes no1 per plant for autos with a 65-85 day grow. From my POV over or under feeding nutes seems to be an issue for some people and the soil costs about £3 for 30l, which is cheap enough to be covered by the cost saving from buying no nutes. The larger the medium you grow in means the bigger the buffer which means the more of an idiot you can be without negative consequences.

That's a seedling mix. You could start your seeds in this but its not suitable for seed to harvest.

Maybe use the no3 after gets it's legs.

I was thinking the same, though no3 from seed maybe too harsh? Perhaps a mix of 2 and 3 would make it more tolerable?

I can only think of a soft layer say Innes No1 then a 3 underneath, If you don't want to feed at all then 3 might be better.

I was thinking about this re tomatoes, I've grown a million without nutes and not particularly thinking of soil either.

    What about slow release pellets?

Forget about it with that soil to start with for a no feed!
Minimum 25 liters and a decent soil you build yourself.
