Alright I’m looking to get a hps light to put in my tent cos I think my cheapo leds are just not good enough for flowering. See if I get 600w with ballast can you run it at lower watts with 600w bulb ? Or do you need lower watt bulb cheers.

Hi. I currently use 2 600w hps bulbs with digital ballast. I dim them down using a 600w bulb no problems

You can dim them down but I'm sure they don't give out the full spectrum if you dim 600 down to 250 for example...sure someone with a little more knowledge can enlighten this

Yeah I think 400 would be enough. Will be 90x90 tent. Was just goin to use my led for veg cos they seem good enough for that. How hot do they get as well ?

In a 90x90 i ran a 600w cool hood no problemo bud . 6" blower and 22"(i rekon) carbon filter . Blow theough the hood and not suck through it . Much more effective and the way its supposed to be installed

How hot do they get. ? Was just looking at ones with the reflector hood. And would I need proper intake ? I found the carbon filter cooled my tent right down even with heater when running the leds

    I don't know how hot A 600 gets, but 1250 BTU is about right for A 400W I think.
