    Default Humidity reading in curing

Mornin all, so I've done drying and now on to curing. The little temp/hum readers I have read 34% humidity when they went in the jar, only done 1 so far, been in 20 mins now and still saying 34%. They were stuck in a box since last grow, all 3 said 34% when I got them out so they all read the same. I know putting orange peel in works to raise humidity but it's not budging on it's own at all and considering it needs to get to 62% I'm wondering if I've done something wrong. Should I have let the readers jump up a bit to 55-60% by leaving them in the tent or something?

If after an hour they are still reading that, it would indicate you have dried your bud too much I am afraid.

I have successfully rehydrated bud using a potato cut in half and left in closed jars for a few days.

Yeh mate, I was just pondering it over a joint , I cut each branch off and hung it to save time and space. Problem was the buds aren't solid they're all quite airy so they dried before the stems. As i was testing the stems for snap or bend the buds must have already been dried. Didn't wanna rely on the feel of the buds. Will take note for next time.

They should rehydrate pretty quick then. I prefer potato as it is odourless and very moist. They use it for cigars if memory servers!!!

I'll grab some spuds and orange on way home, maybe a lime too, spice the glueberry up a bit. I'll try the spud in 2 and fruit in the 3rd. First 2 have a nice smell/flavour which I don't wanna lose. Is it just a thick cut of peel you throw in?

Orange peel is very effective and has a few turpenes of its own
