    Default HPS Questions

What kind of heat from the light alone could I expect to see in a 2.5 W x 3 L x 7 H ft chilly groom? I understand it's like showing a seedling and asking for a yield prediction but just some idea of what your temps are like off hps could give me an idea which is more than I have now

How powerful of a bulb will I need for 4 autos? Was looking at 600w with a lummi black digital ballast and sunmaster dual spec bulb has been mentioned a cple times.

Is a parobolic reflector the best option if I don't need a cooltube to keep heat down?

It's hps or using the 1x 300w blue, red and dual bulbs plus a 125w dual spec on a homemade chandelier, so 4 multi directional cfl bulbs in total

Also as I'm using a 150 IS board for photos I suppose I better factor electricity in

I'm sure all this has been discussed somehwere, it's hard to find specific answers sometimes and opinions always change. Just trying to get ready for the next run with a more permanent setup

A 600w digital dimable ballast would be my preferred choice as it would give the option of dropping to 400w if the heat got too mucl

Ok cool, would probably be cheaper to run hps on photo and led on autos on 24 right? Although the cfl chandelier is a project I wanna do growing decent weed with less faff is more of a priorety

And it's just the bulb and ballast I need right? Plus optional reflector

IMHO, a reflector is not optional as if you are paying for lumens then you don't want to waste them by shining at the top of the groom

Matter of interest, is the dimmer noisy when operational, ie:dimming?

The parabolic is 95cm anyway so won't fit, I know what you mean though. Pointless letting them go to waste.

Nearly bloody ordered it lol, I'm too impulsive that's my problem. Just ordered a dimmable digital lummi black 600w ballast with dual bulb and euro reflector, 79 squid. See how we get on, need it to come tomorrow as I'll struggle accepting them for next few wks. Don't like leaving grow gear with the neighbours, box came ripped yesterday ffs
