Dry persistent cough and a fever, so obviously that requires 1000 acres of forest to be cleared pulped and formed into pocket size squares so we can all feel smug knowing our beefy polo is clean when we gasp our last breath.

The irony being that if you do die from it the body will have one final purge when you die and you will shit ya self, so ya gonna die dirty anyway
Actually, I saw something that said the shits are a rare symptom of Corona. Not that that's the reason people are buying the rolls, they're just dumb fuckers. I do think a lot of people are aiming to earn ££s out of this.

Personally I'm shitting a brick here. I have a lung condition and a darling Mother in Law to think of. Not going out for the forseeable lol "I got my beer on the sideboard here".

Right or wrong, I don't know, but the UK is clearly pursuing a different tactic to many countries in Europe.

My best guess is that here, we are after a longer tail on the illness to avoid peak cases in one hit.

If the assumption is that measures such as banning public gatherings, closing schools, imposing a total curfew make no difference to the numbers that will contract it and that the mortality rate remains the same (again, I have no idea) then it makes sense to try and avoid an Italian-style blip overwhelming the health service.

The problem the Government has is then two-fold:

    a) the tactic does not work
    b) it is subsequently forced to impose curfews, etc., way after the horse has bolted as a result of the initial tactic failing.

It's fascinating and horrible in equal measures.

The brutal truth is that there are circa 650k deaths in the UK each year - clearly, the overwhelming number of whom are elderly. That's 650,000 predominantly elderly people that will die in the UK in the next 12 months from today's date regardless of the latest Coronavirus.

The risk assessment must have considered this: the difference in dying in April 2020 from Coronavirus or in, say, February 2021 from natural causes (other than Covid-19) are negligible. Even to a golden marriage widow, the difference in levels of sadness in each scenario is non-existent.

I don't agree with it, but that's how strategic decisions will have been evaluated.

I dont believe it one bit . Not one person i know has it . Nor anyone i know has it . No one on facebook has it blah blah . Huge fear mongering b.s if you ask me . My wife works in transport we know 250 drivers and they know of no one or not come accross anyone that knows anyone that has it either .

Everything here in canada shutting down .schools are next . Talk are in works closing U.S/Canada border down ....wife got a memo from D.O.T yesturday .
If that happens .half the population will be out of work . Its nuts and all for nothing if you ask me . Regular flu has a death rate or 1-2% ..... let that sink in for a second

Time to turn the fucking t.v off

    Regular flu kills 0.1%, Trex.

In Italy, the mortality rate from Covid is just over 6%.

    60x greater.

Yeah... Trex, This isn't fear mongering there's a big population at risk and going about like its no big deal will put others at risk. This might be a time to pay attention to credible sources.

I'm carrying on as normal and don't really care I've faced worse than some sort of bat or pangolin flu
I've had Leptospirosis (Weil's disease) and Campylobacter ( definitely needed toilet rolls)
Probably best we all catch it and then move on what dont kill ya makes ya stronger.
I also travel the width and breadth of the country in my job .
Most Peeps will catch this get over it and not even notice
