    I have a 6 and an 8 inch cooltube
    8 inch fikter
    8 inch fan

I have them clamped with jubelees tight and taped off

8inch filter>6inch cooltube >8 inch cooltube >8 inch fan and out chimney

Is this ok or do i need to get actual reducers? What wil haveing a smaller cooltube do?

    Seems to be stable temps

Your 6" cooltube will create a bottle neck for the air flow

A bottleneck is a situation that stops a process or activity from progressing...example "He pushed everyone full speed ahead until production hit a bottleneck".

"Something that retards or halts free movement and progress"...or at the minimum is what limits the max capability.

As said above. It can not reach it's full potential again after a bottle neck

I’d use the set up like this.

    Filter-fan-8”cool tube-6”cool tube-out chimney
