    To keep negative pressure in the tent (thus keeping smell in) you ideally want to replace the air inside the tent 2-4 times a minute. So if we say 4 times per minute in this case.

    4x2.88= 11.52m3 to be moved every 60 seconds.

    So in an hour you need to move 11.52 x 60(minutes)=691.2m3

    The fans you mention shift 1050m3 per hour. You can run your fan therefore at 70% and still shift more than enough air to keep negative pressure (smell inside). This also helps keep the noise down

    Be aware that bends in the ducting and a mismatched carbon filter will change the efficiency of the fan meaning you may have to run it faster to compensate.

    Replacing the air twice per minute (still enough for negative pressure)

    1.2x1.2x2=2.88

    2x2.88= 5.76
    5.76x60minutes = 345.6m3/hour

    Run the fan at 35% and maintain negative pressure (smell inside) making it even quieter still.

    Again Large fans running slower make less noise than small fans running quicker. So basically I would say stick with the 8" and run it slowed down
    That’s what I’m aiming for mate that’s brilliant thank you! Just need to find a decent fan controller

    If the loft isn't insulated at all underneath the slates, it's going to be a difficulty environment to control. Cold at night and baking hot during the days. If you were venting into the loft it would be even hotter. Im a loft grower but it was a literal construction project with 200mm rockwool insulation, and the temps still swing. I would not feel safe having a tent in an insulated loft, with the heat Sig being noticeable from police chopper
    When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all.

    I’ve not went any further yet till I know exactly what I need to do in regards to insulating, do I need to actually do the roof or could I put some rock wool over the top of the tent ?

    That's exactly what I did.

    I had 5mm ply on the trusses and then MMMF loft issulation up and over. I then used correx over the top of the MMMF to make it look neat. There's pictures kicking around somewhere of my old loft groom.

    Brilliant ! Thanks for that! I can actually only get a 120x60x150 tent up there so not as high an area as I hoped
