Default Answered: Cannabis Flushing Research by Rx Green Technologies

    FLUSHING TRIAL
IMPACT OF DIFFERENT FLUSHING TIMES ON QUALITY AND TASTE IN CANNABIS SATIVA L.

Data presented by: Stephanie Wedryk, PhD, Director of R&D at Rx Green Technologies
Taylor Wall, Research Operations Lead at Rx Green Technologies
Ryan Bennett, Research Associate at Rx Green Technologies

Rx Green Technologies evaluated the effects of different flushing times on chemical profile, flavor, and
    smoking characteristics in Cannabis flower.
    • Flushing periods of 14, 10, 7 and 0 days were imposed on Cherry Diesel.
    • No differences were detected between flush treatments for yield, potency, or terpenes.
    • Analysis of mineral content of leaves indicated small changes in content of iron and zinc.
    • Taste test panelists tended to prefer flower flushed for 0 days.
Taste and combustion qualities of Cannabis are dependent on the chemical characteristics of the flower. These
chemical characteristics can be influenced by management practices during the growing cycle. For this reason,
many Cannabis growers implement a flushing period where only water is fed to plants in the final days to weeks
before harvest. While many cultivators attest to the effects of a flush, no scientific studies have been conducted to
validate this practice. Rx Green Technologies has undertaken a first of its kind study to determine the influence of
different flushing times on the chemical profile, flavor, and combustion characteristics of Cannabis flower

    Exactly what they say
And exactly what I feel bout it..... feel like it all comes down to grow conditions, genetics and then third comes the dry and only then the cure.... i had 6 different seeds this grow and had a chance to dry and wet trim, quick dry, long dry.. you name it...

Right now I feel like drying @ 55-60% RH and below 20c is best.. with majority of sugar leaves on the bud.. helps retain moisture, and helps with sharp, overnight RH changes.. it slides 10-15% up or down overnight here... and without sugar leaves, below 50% RH is super quick 3-4 days and they're done.... and a lot of taste and small is lost that way...

Maybe I should just post the contents as a post?

Be interesting to see whether keeping flower feed high EC right until chop. Or to slowly weaken it over a week or two before chop....
I've got a diary going which I'm nearing milky tricomes with. So I'm happy to try it on one plant to see the difference and let you guys know

Haven't flushed for the last 12 month (Plants not toilet) and personally cant taste any difference. less work and plants look better. I do lower the feed in the last few weeks though.
TO GROW A PLANT YOU NEED TO THINK LIKE A PLANT

When do you start to dilute the feed and when do you chop
