    Default Answered: Seedlings under HPS

    Hi there,

I haven´t used HPS for seedlings. I am using 600W dual spectrum (dimmable) ... how far away and what wattage is good to use if seedlings start to appear and when is good to use max. wattage?

Im using dual hps 600w from the start.

I started with around 1m from the seedling, now when they are 8 weeks old they are around 60cm away from the light.

What bulb are you using? I use lumii black.

I started with 600w straight, 2 weeks ago I dimmed to 400w but noticed that 600w is better so just go with 600w.

Make sure you got a fan for air circulation.

Do you not have anything else to start them off with? 99% of the energy will be wasted. Fair enough if thats all you have

You'll fry seedlings using the back of the hand test. I wouldn't do that.

I have lots of CFL-s, but every time when used these the seedlings have been falling down .... so, now decided to try the HPS (4X250W) and see if the lighting was the problem.

Lights just light, doubt the CFLs would be the cause as they are nice and gentle, just what seedlings want. Sure we can root out your issues
