Currently its a sunmaster 600w dual spectrum bulb in a ultra vivid digital ballast, but could always change the bulb to mh if that would be better

The dual spec HPS will be fine, plenty of people grow with them and I have done myself in the past.

Hps in veg and led in flower.....once upon a time that would have been considered very unorthodox on here

Lights just light so just as long as you have enough for flower and not too much when young you will be fine

Is HPS not better for flower??

Not better to use led for veg and hps for flower? Espesially if its 600w?

Maybe Im wrong so go with the opinion of someone experienced.

I know you could use the dual spec all way through as it has some blue light in there to. Iv now ordered sunmaster read some good reviews.
Iv yet to try full HPS spec in flower or led so not sure what the difference is there.

Dude, why would you want to veg under hps when you have one of the best led grow lights on the market in the zeus? You dial that baby back and use her for veg - its 5600k pure daylight spectrum...Flower/veg/anything you like....

The Par and umols of this LED are superior to the hps. The umols are hps 1.6/8 - Zeus, 2.7...Youre running the equivalent of a 1000w HPS with better ppfd and usable light...with the zeus, more deep red spectrum and less heat...I run the Attis 300w and its equivalent to 400w/420w again with better ppfd and PAR than a hps...In smaller grows its a bit of a no brainer to run led these days...not budget ones though, the blurples and the mock wattage (1000w monsters that draw 100w from the wall)...the proper jobs, like the migrow/HLG/Lumatek...meanwell drivers and samsung diodes only...
