So after trying to grow 2 plants in my cupboard I converted, I've decided it's too cramped so I'm going with 1 at a time in there. I worry then about my supply, so I've decided to build a small veg cabinet.
It's too small for a cfl reflector ( inside measures 39cm wide, 40cm deep and 83cm high). That's assuming my diy skills are up to the task of building the cabinet. As usual I'm making things hard for myself and experimenting with an epoxy resin finish. Easy on a table, harder with parts that will need assembling.
So I'm going with LEDs. The diodes on the strips are spread more than on traditional grow lights so they're better in a restricted height like mine. I wouldnt attempt this usually, but once again I have our resident guru Gardro guiding my moves and ensuring I use the right parts. Its insane how many considerations there are once you start to research what you'll need so many many thanks Gardro. For those of you wanting something for 2 plants, check out my other light build.
I've ordered everything I need I think. Below is what's been purchased. Total cost is about £130. Probably could have been cheaper but I'm paying extra for the sellers with quick delivery and trying to ensure I use quality products. Total strips used will be 8. I ordered 10 cause you get a discount so the extra 2 only worked out at 2 quid each.
Will use rivets on the frame. Went for angle bars either side for strength. And the larger one will be where the driver and dimmer switch is located.
Items are due to arrive in about a week. Cant wait
