need some help choosing my lighting

hi all its been forever since i was lasat on ive been plodding though the bay looking at grow tent kits nothing fancy like, ive noticed a rather large selection with 600w cfl bulbs.

im admitidly torn between hps and cfl, whilst cfl is cheaper i am a little skeptical about them i have a daft notion of using a cfl bulb and it taking 6 months to get to the same stage as a hps bulb in 6 weeks.

am i just plain wrong or do they slow the growth down i guess im looking at trying new ways of growing and trying to keep the running cost down as much as i can

Please forget about cfl unless it’s for starts, I’d look into cmh if I couldn’t afford or didn’t want to go the led route for sure.

ive got what might seem like a realy daft question, what is the differance between CMH and HPS/MH lighting setups im intreeged by cmh but im not sure

I started with cfls. I cant fault the product or yeild, but the gpw isnt great which impacts your leccy bill. If you're indoors and in it for the long run, I'd invest in an LED board. They take up less space and with a dimmer switch they can stay fixed. My cfls took up space and needed adjusting daily to allow for growth.

I think it depends on how much folk want to spend on lights as well. I just switched to hps had a couple cheap led ones what come in tent kit and they are pretty darn poor like. I think you can be spending good couple of hundred at least on led and I paid 60 for 600w hps kit.
