£10 ebay option, will work, wont be high quality, MAY squeal/hum

£40+ premium options like kontrol freek or SMScom, will work, will be better quality products/materials, MAY squeal/hum

£100+ controller options, usually automated set and forget within parameter range. MAY squeal/hum.

The choice I made for myself was based on the fact they MAY all squeal/hum anyway so started with the cheapest just incase, with the intent to spend up if required.
I got lucky and have no hum or squeal on my £10 one so never bothered with an expensive model. You can tell its low quality, cheap materials used but it works and meant I could put the extra £££ saved into a better filter

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

I got the smscom hybrid pro with the night time humidity function and I’ve had it 5 years it broke about a year ago and they took it back for repairs no problem, no charge and I’ve never had no humming noise
    Think it was about £250

Is it better than the ecotechnics? Any idea?
I have to build a new set-up in the near future and need to start a shopping list

A lot depends on the speed the fan is required to work at. If it is less than 50% of it's max then most products will cause hum...
