    Default Answered: Fungus gnats issue

Hey folks hope your all well! Currently 5 week into flower and have got an issue with fungus gnats I need to get under control. Already had sticky strips up for a week but still seeing them, what products can I use on the medium to kill off the larvae as don't want to hurt my girls either. Using coco and been reading about neem oil but not recommended in flower? Picture for reference

    Preventive measures are good.

But now you could apply water/hydrogen peroxide i think 1:4 so 100ml h2o2 for each 400ml water...

Soil will fuzz for a minute, but this supposed to kill larvae and is supposedly harmless to plants. I did that on my vegies and no harm was done. Didnt try on weed.

There i put a bunch of sticky traps. Stick the drippers all the way down to minimize coco moistire on top.. then RAID before flower, maybe once or twice after stretch is done, quick blast to bottom of pots, below the flood table, outside the tent. This is to break the breeding cycle.

Put perlite on top of coco to prevent larvae from digging in and eating your roots though u need to have a real bad infestation for this to hapen.

Replace your sticky traps weekly, use alot of them on soil level and around the pots,

Use neem oil and spynosad products on a bi weekly basis..

If u keep gnats population small, ull be fine.

You could also use biological pesticide.

Hypos are a sort of mite themselves arent they? Type of medium wont matter with predator bugs

Hypoaspis Miles are best added at the beginning of a grow, they live for about forty days so they will wipe out an infestation before it starts works for me

Indoors I will usually put a couple inches of clay pebbles or even some sand over the top of my growing medium to keep those gnats from getting down into the pot. Once they're in the pot or maybe when I'm mixing up my soil mixture I can put in mosquito bits and that will stop them. you can top dress with mosquito bits and just water a little through every time or it's even better just to put it in your water and feed let it sit for a while then water it in. But they do work real well and they don't have any problems for people.
