    Default Supermarket soil.....

Hi all - I really need to pot up my babies and flip, but I’m out of soil. It’s possible
to order online but it’s an approx 10 day delivery and it comes in at double the price
(Plant Magic = £11.99 per bag, but delivered = £25.99) and I need plenty of bags.

I’ve been doing this hobby a couple of decades and never, ever used non-cannabis
specialised soil. Never known anyone that has either, but heard plenty of negative
rumours about regular garden type soil - fungus gnats, spider mites etc etc.

Given the present situation, would you guys go for a risk on supermarket soil (not even
garden centres are open near me) or pay a fortune for proper soil, also taking into
account I’m broke and cash is running out quickly due to being furloughed.

    Cheers,
    D9

No difference between Plant Magic soil and B&Q Verve as far as end result is concerned and at under £4 for 50L, Verve for the win...

Pretty sure B&Q is still open for a click and collect?

It is Herb, I had a bag of Verve from them last week (and a couple of grow bags too!)

I grows in store got soils and even the dreaded miracle grow soils which can be hot but still have done all my grows with cheap soil. If yual really think about it it's not the soil ya start with it's how you treat it during the grow with organic and nutrient that gets ya there. Good luck pilgrim hope yual fill yur need in the end

Really? In that case, I’m at B and Q already

I mentioned using normal shop soil on this forum many years ago and I got loads of grief
off people, just for contemplating using it, so I stuck with canna soil.

I’m more than pleased that people’s perspective on this has changed - gets me out of a right
pickle atm, plus it’ll be infinitely cheaper! Much appreciated, folks??

I've always found Verve Multipurpose to be a great compost to grow in, the PH is good too

It was either wait for a delivery of my usual plant magic soil from scalpers at £20+ but I've chosen to go with morrisons £3 Click image for larger version.

I use garden centre soil. Grow Sure, Westlands type stuff.

Give it a little sprinkle of fish-blood-bone and "Rootmore" (a mycor additive) and you have a good base to grow from.

A splash of liquid seaweed won't hurt either.
