Default When should the cannabis leaves start to show? day 8

    Hi,

On the 18th I planted my first seeds. Today is the 8th day since planting my seed in (Royal Critical Auto) under a 400w light (600w light but turned down for now). When I planted, it had a 1.5-2" root on the kitchen towel method

At first I guy in the diary told me to keep the light 1m from the top of the airpots, however last night after searching I found this seems way too high, so currently lowered to 22", tho may lower it more as this is still above the search results from what I found for a good distance at 400w

Anyways, so 7-8 days on and I still don't have the first true leaves showing? At what point should these start to show?

Its in either a 12.5l or 15l pot

Should be showing by now, if it was mine I'd bin that seed, and start a new 1,but that's your call, sorry

Lol...damn was hoping noone would say something like that. Thanks Easy-T

I know you were dipping into my diary a bit Easy-T......not sure if you read it since, but the night before last I popped in 4 more seeds after a 24hour soak - so guess I'll keep it in and see how these go in comparison......if I get zero success then I'll be gutted

I know they're old seeds (2016) but heard that people germinate no problem with a lot older. And they were kept in a cool dark dry place

That's a lot of light for a seedling. I usually start off with a 80 watt 6500K CFL to keep her warm. You just may be burning her.

What are the temps and humidity? Should be in the 26C and RH70% range.

    Cheers bud,

    What competitions haha. on here?

At least I'll be getting these old seeds used up.

I think after these current ones are grown/done I'll only have left 3 white widow xxls (which in theory if all goes well can be a good 2nd grow for me or final attempt before buying brand new)

Bought from seedsman at the time.....just wish I knew if it was shit I did wrong, or if they were just bad seeds anyway

The main things I know of, was day 1s water had to be high EC tap (1.0 from the tap) as the root had grown too large in kitchen roll but my RO hadn't come yet, and now, it seems my lights should have been lower. I think I may lower it to about 18" to go by what some of the websites are saying, and keep an eye on the temps from there

One thing I'm worred about there, is its getting close to that humidifier, don't want that steam to blow up the bulb!

    Hi Riot.

Unfortunately I have no CFLs to hand, and in lockdown here. A fella on the diary at first told me to have the light about 1m away, though he drifted away from my diary I think, as suspect it was a case of to monitor temps at first then maybe lower later

At that point the floor temp was around 21 and temp at the light level about 27c. Humidity I've been keeping around 60-70%

With the light now at 22" from the top of the pot since yesterday, I've been keeping a closer eye on that temp with it being a change, but increased the fan speed too, and its around 25C right now, with 65% humidity, and 22 on the floor

I have only a small clipon fan in there at the moment, which is bodged onto the side, next to the humidifier, and its connected to a Sonoff smartplug controller which has a humidity and temp readout, so I have it set to turn that fan on if the humidity drops below 60 (to push the water vapour from the humidifier around the tent)
