    Default Air con

    I run 8 plants in a 2.4 x 1.2 and run 2 x 600w in summer but this year I don’t want to struggle with temps.

I only need to get the room temps down a few degrees

Been looking at portable air conditioner machines but understand they have to be exhausted out window or can you exhaust them into loft ?

Also any other ideas or recommendations of a gadget ? What about air coolers are they any good ?

Ye if the room is big enough and u dont care about energy efficiency u could keep the exhaust in one side and coldair to other side sonit will probably run constantly as the roon will never get cold as it should but colder side will def be colder by a few degrees....

Currently using one in the loft at the moment mate ...when needed anyway
As long as your blowing your hot air out of your room you should be ok
My exhaust outtake of air con unit is surprisingly hot and noisy also
    Worth the investment tho

I’m in a bedroom and I wanna exhaust into a loft.

Is your machine a portable one ? How noisy ? About the same as a big dehumidifier would you say ?

    Well,
Aircon blows hot air from the back, cold from front.

If u duct the hot air out the window, attic, wherever, then ur aircon will only use that much energy to cool your room.

If you keep the hot air inside the room, ur aircon front side will still blow cold air and will probably drop the temprature significantly where its facing, but it wont be efficient as hot air will constantly be blowing out the other side of the aircon, mixing with the cold air, so its a constant battle.

    Example:
Normally if ur room is 25c, and u want it to be 20c, u let the aircon work 30 mins then thermostat activated once reached the temprature and it will now work half as hard to keep that temprature.... It will really draw 50% less from the wall (tested mine, pretty sure they all work the same and its an old one)

Now if the hot air is always mixing up.. it will work nonstop full power... N maybe its not so good for the air con as well mate..

So in a nutshell it’s imperative that you exhaust the hot air out the room. Will need a few metres of ducting and another hole in the ceiling but is doable.

I don’t understand how they are called ‘portable’ because once the ducting is plumbed they are not portable.
