Hey, I've done micro grows in worse than this.

I would recommend no more than 2 small disposable drinking cups so you can better control the height, as for lighting you will probably want something that has reasonable output but with low temperatures, the spider farmer sf-1000 will be good for this thanks to it's thin profile and quantum-style heat sink.
