Default Was this too hot for seed?

I had seeds in a damp coffee filter, in a sandwich bag which i lightly tied, and opened every day and sprayed/let air in and then on a plate on top of occasionally used cable box. and finally a dark teatowel on top.

im thinking it was too hot and killed multiple seeds

These were created outdoors and was told their shells can be thicker so i wanted the best possible chances. I'm just going to go into coco now with a drop of peroxide on top

I've heard scraping seeds on match box striking paper helps water penetrate seed shells. I'd just pop one in ya media water n wait...think I've had two seeds not germ from just planting straight into soil the rest have successfully so those two could of been duds who knows.

I throw mine in wet towels, in a closed tupperwear style container & leave them on the kitchen bench... winter too

I do it by puttin a wet piece of kitchen roll in a plastic chinese take away tub, wrap a towel round it then put it on the internet router thing. But I've had a few start then stall just after they poke out recently, maybe it's too hot for some, gonna pull it off and leave it on the side see how that goes. Only just started to fail though.

Update: None of the outdoor bred regs have popped. HOWEVER i put 3 throwaway seeds in the same setup and they all germinated long tails no problem, so i'm even more confused. and sad, because these are from good breeder (not seedbank) in the U.S and i was gifted them.
