Default No ballast with this cfl bulb?

    Hi guys,

I’ve been having problems with 250w cfl bulbs breaking down after 1 or 2 grows.
Someone told me I shouldn’t be using a ballast with them as they have a built in ballast.

I’m about to buy another one to veg my babies, but I don’t know what bulb holder to use if I can’t use my ballast, as all the ones I look at are too small, or if the right size they are for a ballast.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Here’s the bulb I have

Google e40 cfl holder or buy a euro reflector as they're e40

Yep just need a 40mm screw socket direct to mains.

The compact as in the C in CFL means its all inside

Whilst you can get CFLs with external ballast, you don't see them often ... and the ones you have are with built in ballast

Cheers gents. I'll bag one of them e40 holders. I can find the euro reflectors, but they don't have a plug on. I have one of those here. They just plug into a ballast.

    Oh yeah...

How will I know if this bulb is still OK? I used it with a ballast last time, but it still seems to be shining OK.
