  2. "Defoliation is good and benefecial, given your plants are in good green condition and u dont over do it (ive been defoliating every plant ive had virtually in the past years.. none have showed any sign of slowing down.. the opposite, is what happens usually, 24-72 hrs after defoliation, all bud sites will accelarate and pump up a bit, not something the un experienced eye will notice, but i do it anyway, as i believe that if a leaf that isnt getting enough light will get some discolorations then fall off... Same goes to buds well they dont fall off but they just turn out small, fluffy and not potent.

I defoiate, usually, 2 or 3 times in a cycle. Depends on leaf growth.

I will probably defoliate a bit before switching the lights, then between 14 and 21 days constantly, just enough so light penetrates all the way down, thats when i lollipop and strip bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the plant. I try not to strip em completely at once but again, even taking off 5-6 branches at once doesnt seem to bother a green plant.

So after 21 days it should start exploding with bud sites, needless to say when stripping, i strip small bud sites as well.. i rub them against the stem if too small to cut.. they fall off.

Then last defoliation might be around day 30 to 40 thats peak flower now and i will be taking no more than 5 major leaves off a plant. I know it contradicts what i said, but they will stop producing new fan leaves at peak flower, and we want to keep as many as possible for photosytensis, all whilst letting the lights penetrate all the way through the canopy, and keep it airy ... Too much foliage may lead to molds and rots

If your tent is full now and you haven't flipped then it's gonna be rammed in there after stretch. Id give a good defol let them recover then flip.

If youre not limited with height id flip, and cut off any excess growth to the sides, if youre limited with height, id reduce third of the current height at least, could clone whatever you chop. You could put a scrog, let grow for a week then flip. Could provide more help if u provide some measurments of plants and groom

I’m not restricted it’s a 2m high tent, have I to just remove ANYTHING what’s blocking anything from top and middle and remove all discoloured leaves, the plants are nice and green and healthy (some discoloured that haven’t been getting light at the bottom) can I remove small leaves as well to get rid of some foliage, ones really bushy but has a few bud sights,, could I flip tonight when lights go out and defoliate tomorrow say? And do stop grow neut when I start bloom neut? Thanks for the help guys!

Whats the plants height now and whats your max head room when lights all the way up?

You could always trim yellow leaves as they will fall off eventually.

I would clean all small growth from bottom to top. Like bottom half, strip it completely, leave only the strongest, thickest stems - dont worry as plant will branch out x3-4 in early flower..

Let grow for a week, if its still on track you may turn the flip then. Now is also a good time and u could trim tmrow after flip, but its smart to let plants recover a little and get back on track before switching the flip. Remember virtually everything is reversable while vegging.... Once flip was done is hard to go back

Keep veg nutes until 14 days of flower or first signs of real pre flowers (2 tiny pistils doesnt count)

I’ve got around 20” for them to grow into by the time the lights at the top of the tent, that was a reason I wanted to flip as I read they explode in size, just before I run out of space totally, would you risk the flip and take a couple of leaves a day of each plant from bottom and lower bud sites? Or defoliate and leave them the week, thanks guys sorry for silly questions I just don’t want to harm anything, cheers guys!
