Welcome mate, it's been awhile since I've done any lighting research but you should be able to do real good for your price range. My LEDs aren't really available anymore but I paid between $300 and $500 a piece of US and they all replace a 600-watt easy with a draw of 300 w.

thanks m8 i thought i narrowed it down to the migro 400 optic 4xl or the lumatek attis 300w , but have now been informed a 315 watt quality cmh will serve better so i am even more pickled than before ????

Well I don't really know those lights, but I can tell you you can grow with a quality LED better than you can with all of the other high electrical options.

Those migro lights actually look decent, I'm not sure what cob chip they're using that makes a difference. But I've seen some guys grow some really good weed using cob lights they just had individual pendants that they hung around their tent where they wanted them. I think the penetration on most of those Cobb lights are at least as good as a 600 watt HPS many I think are as good as a thousand watt HPS.

I bet they'll be a few guys along here with some opinions.

Im happy with my HLG QBs but if I had a spare grand i'd be looking at importing a ChilLed growcraft or building a DIY version of it and save a few quid for other upgrades later on
