    Default Ecothrive Charge

I bought this before my last grow and used it once in the soil when I first started, one didn't like it and tbf I didn't really know what else to do with it. Reading about it last night, it says you can use it in water or as a top dress every 4 wks, to my understanding, instead of nutes, NPK is 3-2-3. I've put it on a lemon ak I've got thats about 7 wks old so I'll soon see what effect it has. But I just wanted to know if this can be used start to finish? Has anyone used it?

    Default Ecothrive Charge

I use it and mix it in to my soil
    It's basically insect frass
I find it best mixed in and then aloud to cook for a week or two. Then I'll use my soil

Do you use a homemade soil for top dressing or something as the weeks go on? Or just top up with charge? Was thinking of just adding charge to one of my plants every 4 wks, or as it needs it, start to finish next grow and just water it, or have I misunderstood? Then like you say cook the soil before hand.

I really only use mulch as a top dress and I like to cover that with a small layer of my own soil and some worm casings

Yes I've made my soil my own by adding amendments originally I started off by using plagron light mix and house and garden batmix special
Then I've added and added cooked and cooked
So I'm still using the very same soil I started with but it has become my own.

Nice, was it a lot of trial and error getting it how you wanted it? So you use the same soil over and over but keep adding amendments and letting it cook. Do you reuse it for the next grow?

I have a batch cooking atm ready for the next round.
Yeah it took a while and I'm still learning about it now
There's a vast amount of knowledge ready to read on the forum about building soils up .

Reds is a he's forgotten more than I know guy and has always been really helpful.

Once my plants are chopped all the waste the old soil and a few other bits and bobs go in a black bin and get turned regularly and the soil really does warm up and cook as stuff degrades and decays .

How do you store it while it's cookin? I've got some 30-50 ltr or something plastic storage boxes with lids, will they be ok? Do you need to let it breathe once a day or anythin or just mix and keep it covered until it's ready to be used?

I have a 200ltr black plastic bin with a lid . Only time it breathes is when I turn it but saying that the lid isn't air tight
