    Default Training advice

Evening guys, hope your all staying safe
Not long finished just 5 Blueberry OG. I did a mix of top & fimming and regretted it due to different heights/light coverage etc. But it was my nicest tasting one to date so not moaning. Attached a pic of it

So got 4 BF Orange sherbet in 10L pots & 1 Dr Widow in a 15L. I’m in a 1.2x1.2x2m tent so need to fill it width wise! Need help with which route to go down
They’re 3weeks from sprout (potted straight into their forever tubs from germ). Now I have done gentle bending a week ago and seems to have made them fairly flexible... It’s my first time hopefully doing a full on LST/Scrog and need advice before I commit to something

I read that people normally LST in smaller pots and bend it round near the edges then go into bigger pots once happy, can I still do it in their forever pots? I have attached a few pics of what Im working with
The first pic we’re you can see string tieing it down to the side of the pot. Is that done as it should be? It responded good to I think and started grow in a different direction..

I’m under HPS and believe me wanting the plants to be tall around 1.2-1.4m if possible this is better than CFL/MH, hoping for a even canopy and ideally don’t need stay in veg for another 6weeks

Anyone hint me with which way to do this. Am I going about it wrong by LST wanting them to stay tall but fairly even canopy? Was thinking of topping in a few days. Also I attached a pic of a grow my mate sent me he’d done but he won’t share his secrets just to ‘start bending/tieing’ and claims its a 1.2x1.2m aswell. Anyone see how he trained?

Please help guys. I’m sick of growing Christmas trees

My blueberry OG. You can see how much room I was left with after heavily defoliating (probably a bit to late but will definitely try it this time )

Get them topped bud, keep tying arms down keeping that even canopy, or wait till a week before flip and supercrop (pinch stems) till they're all bent and level, LST- tie the man stem down bud and allow the others to catch up, then soon as one over takes the other tie it down, this is the two methods I've done bud, my last plant had 8 week veg tying down daily and she had a perfect canopy, all depends how much time you want to spend in y here training, if not I'd suggest a scrog pal

ID:	383022So as you can see this one I have tied with string has responded ok and growing up vertically from where I tied it
Sorry just grasping the concept of it all.. now it’s growing upwards being tied down do I leave it tied down? When do I look to take the string from restraining it? After new shoots, then tie them down? How do I avoid get a completely horizontal stem, I want it vertically
    growing then lots of shoots

What’s the quickest option to look at ? But get a even canopy from it and fairly decent yield with tall plants?

I leave mine tied down until the rest have caught up and the canopy is nice and even mate, then I untie the main and tie others for a day or two to strengthen them up a bit, should end up with a nice even canopy, out of curiosity why you do want to grow tall plants? So long as your canopy is nice and even your golden bud, your light will only penetrative so far down the canopy, so you end up with pointless fluffy shite down the bottom of the plant (that's if your not lollipoping them)

    Thanks for the reply Lowrollerbean
I’ve been experimenting the past day or two and tying. Couple responding well but couple can’t seem to get growth at the very first shoot (yet). Gonna give it some time. I’m using a 600w dimmable ballast but set on 250-400w, just seeing what temps I’m working with. Dreading the height of summer, may have to invest in a cool tube or add say a 250W-300W red spectrum CFL & keep the ballast set on 250W.

Am I tying right? I’m getting the grasp of it but like everything else will come with time. Not looking for monstrously tall plants but not looking to restrict the height which I feel I may be doing with LST but we will see!
Chances are I will add a scrog net, lollipop/get rid of the bottom bits. Looking forward to see how they respond/transform

Will topping now technically reduce height of the plant with me tying down??

So .. continuing with the training as you can see. Ties finally came through the post!
Had to tie down two lower branches so far as were getting taller than the main tied down node
    Also topped Friday
I’m aiming for no longer than a 6 week veg time and need to fill the tent if possible. Iv seen that people have topped the lower growth is this a good route to go down? Just over 3weeks from potting from germ

I may also supercrop aswell as a scrog net but may be biting a bit more off than I can chew with all 4 being fairly novice

You LST gurus am I doing it right??Click image for larger version.

Try using another piece of string mate around her base tied in the opposite direction so the whole plant isn't pulled over just her top half, no harm done she will be fine, as for the other shoots she just needs a week or so and you will see them growing up too and they will be nice and even

Just seen your bit about topping, I'd wait till the next node grows through then top that one, or just leave them how they are mate, your call, all looks well so far if you want to top lower growth wait till they have more nodes too bud and just keep spreading her out with your ties and fill up as much space as you can while keeping everything even at canopy level
