Default Answered: Anyone switched from coco to DWC?

    Hello all,

Just after some opinions of members who have made the switch from coco to DWC.

I posted in my diary about been tempted to make the switch - as at the moment I am hand watering and have no real means for dumping run-off. Some awesome members (Shredder, grower1988, The Solyom, underground, Krofam THANKS GUYS) who have gave me some great advice and helped me get to where I am and corrected my wrong-doings (lol).

I have 2 options for next grow
    1) Spend money on a system what auto feeds and drains run-off
    2) Go DWC (but maybe cock-up before my brain absorbs all the knowledge lol)

So basically just after some more information, bad stories, good stories, everything.

    Cheers guys

I have a drain table in my grow room with a Mason's tub underneath and a sump pump so it just drains out into the drain tile outside. Then I usually set up 30 gallon reservoirs to feed as many plants as I can get away with on one res, with my setup I can be auto-watering my plants three or four times a day and get better production than I could with deep water culture. too many variables change with deep water culture on a daily basis you really have to stay on top, Coco I just set it and forget it.

I considered it but have decided to stick with coco and add a auto watering/draining set up instead

If you do decide to make the switch here's a handy little chart to help you figure out what all those measurements are that you're going to make twice a day.

i started with dwc and ended up going with coco. no regrets.

smaller numbers one can hand feed and collect runoff. higher numbers and drippers on a run to waste would probably be best bet.

for now i will continue hand feeding but i plan on setting up drippers on a run to waste.
i will only mix up enough nutes for drippers to run for about 50% of lights on period. allowing for plenty of runoff and leaving enough time for medium to drain well before lights off.

this way i wont need to monitor res ph and ec levels. only when i make a batch.

    something to consider.
