Some of you guys convinced me that raw food will be better for my elderly Lakeland terrier on this thread

Not wanting to clog up that thread I thought I'd start another.
So, today I was looking to buy him his food. One company mentioned Middleton foods. 2 things, I noticed about them and the products. 1, I emailed them over a week ago asking about feeding guides and as of yet I've not had a reply. 2, The packs of meat I looked at all said in the additional information, that the meat was a supplementary food. However, they did seem to be the cheapest I could find, and by quite a lot. Daily food bill would be 0.36p
I looked at a couple of other companies that supplied prepared meals, these range from about £1.30 a day upwards. These were balanced diet meals tailored to my dog. The one I would have settled on was about £1.80 a day.
What do you guys do and do you have any recommendations? I don't really want to spend £1.40 a day if it isn't necessary.
