Default Led vs hps ? Have advancements been made

Hi all thanks for taking the time out to to view my post .. basically I haven't grown anything in years and back when led 1st come about it was generally considered not very good to say the least but I'm seeing great things have happened in the last couple years and was wondering if I should go with the trusted 600w hps or a similar led system ? I have no idea where led is involved and feel more confident with hps especially knowing to avoid lumii after wasted money before haha the money for the set up is not really an issue as long as still in this atmosphere , just wondering if any led light would suit my needs for a decent sized production similar to a 600w hps and fairly good quality with dense buds as my medical needs have recently changed and the street stuff in uk has taken a lot of turns for the worse in recent years , thanks for any help and responses

LEDs have made some great strides in the last half a dozen or so years, I'm not really up to date on what the good ones are doing. I run with LEDs that are seven or eight years old and at 300 watts of draw they have the footprint of a 600 HPS but penetrate twice as far. I think that's the main thing you get these days with the newer LEDs is a lot more penetration.

Yeah so much has changed with them since they first come around it probably was 6 years ago now don't time fly when having fun , back in the day I was mainly interested in them as a side piece for the different light spectrums and soemthing about them just makes your groom/tent all most spaceship like but it seems people are getting great yields now with nice quality bud but from what I've seen on YouTube etc still slightly on the airy side .. I'm in 2 minds wether to stick with what I know or try something new , I might go 250w hps and an equivalent in ld it's just learning all that side of it and wanting to keep things as safe as possible electrical wise not looking to overload anything as a bit of a novice in that area but 1 light one plug would suit me better

I did have some fun with the old huge cfl bulbs as well nothing amazing the 300ws where in no way comparable to a 250w hps but they were nice for keeping a mother and few clones going and if you wanted to just leave to keep a plant healthy through its life now these new leds look crazy haha power / electricity bills isn't too much of a worry as I only plan on having 1 bulb going and a couple fans I'm basically just wondering if there's a really good alternative to a 600w hps or one I could pair with a 250w , gonna need someone who knows about leds here haha I know what brands to avoid and go for with the hps but leds is a whole new field to me

I'm sure there are some growers on here that who could point you in the direction of a 300 watt LED that would blow your mind. I don't think you'd have to worry so much about the light airy buds anymore.

Yeah it seems like they're really dialed it down and know what they're doing these days where as before it was kind of a gimic , I've heard and read some stories on the bad chinese 1s but as with anything you get what you pay for in this world , hopefully someone can steer me into into a good reputable brand until then I'm off to the grow diaries to see how people get on

Thanks for some input I'll be sure to give them a bit of research and hopefully find something suitable for my needs interested to see what I can get from them tbh I'm as interested in the science / experimentation almost as much as smoking the stuff lol as I'm sure most of you are

I'm sure I remember seeing soemthing years ago about some nice bushy early growth but I could be wrong .. deffo want to incorporate leds somehow , back down the rabbit hole I go
