    Default Plant magic plus soil

    Hello peps. Couple questions.
If I was to use this soil. Would it be a good idea to add some perlite?

What would be best nutrients to use. Getting mixed feed back on. Old timers which would of been my choice.

Herb will drop in on the nutes but the soil I've used and it doesn't matter about perlite, seems to do ok without it. All soil with no perlites gonna get compacted towards the end of the grow I've found. But adding it never hurt

Cheers. Might add maybe 20%. See how that goes.

Was going to stay with plant magic for soil and nutes. Getting mixed feed back.
    Any experience with them?

Perfectly adequate soil, imo - it comes preloaded with something like perlite - can't remember the name for it - so I guess there's a marginal benefit in adding your own. I've used it with and without - never noticed a difference. To be honest, PM soil is 3 or 4 times more expensive than what many of us use (B&Q Verve) that I feel it should be fine straight out of the plastic without spending more on perlite.

People are gonna moan as they've heard me say it time and again, but you'll have your work cut out with Old Timers. It's such hard work these days (not the same mix as it used to be)

If you aren't bothered with being organic, I'd go with Plant Magic's non-organic range in either the soft or hard water version depending on the water where you live.

You'll find that so much easier than the constant pain of Old Timers.

    In my opinion.

I've got the hard water versions to try on the orange sherbert and original amnesia I started, seemed a waste to build a cupboard just for the pepsi plant

Very much looking forward to seeing how they turn out. Have you got an Old Timer's background to go before it?
