Absolutely agree they are robbing bastards as are many of the car spare shops...Google "Tayna Batteries" and up upgrade to a AGM (absorbent glass mat) Bosch, Varta or Exide if funds permit...

Back in the day every teenager I knew could bump start a car, you'd have a list of mates you could call when you broke down too. I always wanted a tow truck as a second car.

None of my mates passed their tests til they were in their 20s, I didn't til I was about 25. Believe it or not today was the first time I've ever been involved in a bump start period lol, just never came up before.

All done and back on the drive. Gonna change the plugs over too. Got another query for ya'll

Stereos...I've got the factory fitted mk1 focus stereo in, want to get a bluetooth one, nothin special. This one I've seen is bluetooth and dab. It's a JVC KD-X272BT. It says " Short Body Digital Media Receiver with Bluetooth" so does short body just mean it's half the length or something but will still fit all cars?

I know I need that faceplate to cover half of it after removal of old stereo and the tool to take it out, and I think I need a "Universal ISO Harness Adaptor" as halfords call it, pretty sure it's old enough to warrant one. I won't be able to find out until I take it out, so if I don't need it I can return but if I do need a connector, is this it? Also as it's dab will the ariel just hang unused at the back? Secured somewhere with duct tape I imagine.

Maybe a Mod could rename the thread to "Car maintenance for dummies"
