    Default Bud rot and harvest

    Hi

I identified one of my bud with bud rot (I cut down the affected bud)

That's kind of a difficult choice, on the one hand you've got a little bit more time to finish those buds off nice and on the other hand you got an environment that is dangerous to allowing your plants to finish.

if it was me when I was a noob I probably would have just harvested and that would have been the smartest thing for me to do. Now I can make adjustments and probably keep going if I wanted to but I'm not sure I want to smoke anything that had rot on one bud.

If you want to go ahead and harvest, then where every Branch meets the main stem look at the calyx if it's an ugly Brown like that rotted bud I would throw that whole Branch away. You can work out each branch from the main stem and check every node where you have a calyx if they all look good on a branch all the way out then there's probably no rot to worry about in those buds.

I think those other buds look a bit suspect too but also, as stev says, they're making me a bit itchy. Have you checked for mites?

Do you have a fan blowing in the grow area?
I had a problem with high humidity(insanely high, damp walls),donkey dick buds being too thick/dense,and not enough air movement several years ago,I found by increasing the air movement in the grow area it greatly reduced the chance of bud rot,I couldn't tackle the humidity due to the location at the time(underground garage) it was like pissing against the wind fighting the humidity,I added more fans blowing around the buds which helps a huge amount.
It was gut wrenching each time I had to toss away an oz or more of rotten bud.
