    Default Basil Harvest & Preservation

Thought some would be interested i harvest my basil once / twice per month, last harvest was bout 50% bigger. It was 80 grams now thats i estimate around 50 grams without the stems.. alwaya leave nice amount of undergrowth... Important to snip when they develop flowers, it makes the leaves hard and bitter. With a good feeding schedule and lots of sun, you could juat harvest bi monthly without snipping flowers but in case it flowers and isnt ready for harvest,, snip em away.
It likes a moist - semi dry soil. I water twice a week and feed every 4th watering or so, usually i will see a decrease in growth then i will feed.

I use liquid humic acid and organic N fert with beetroot etc... Some kelp and essentials oils via foliage as well maybe once a month, might do that more now in the afternoons...

After harvest i stick em in wet rockwool and they stay fresh for about a week or two, with no spotting or anything, they even grow a little and might root out, if i dont use it all

    Enjoy talkers
    Mon the pesto
