Default Calcium Deficiency or Something Else?

    Hi,

The seed was germinated and then direct sowed on June 14th. Seemed to be going well, with what seemed to be a lot of focus on root growth. But now there are issues with new growth, starting with the second set of new leaves. Do those new leaves look like they have a calcium deficiency or they will eventually expand? It would be surprising to see some nutrient deficiency this early on, the soil is pure, and never been used, has excellent drainage, etc.

This is a balcony grow with afternoon sun.

Any input appreciated!Click image for larger version.

You need to wait until you get two or three nodes developed to determine if there's anything going on. Sometimes new leaves can come in kind of crooked and squirrely looking. The color is good and the plant appears to be healthy and growing well so I wouldn't worry.
