It's done all the time mainly is a way of checking sex on regular seeds, but there's no reason you can't go 12/12 right from the beginning with a clone.

Sounds like people are telling you the plants only grow roots when you have more than 12 hours of light, I know that's BS I've rooted clones on 12/12. I've taken clones from flowering mothers and re-vedgef them while I was rooting them. It's never ideal to do things with clones during 12:12, but the plant doesn't stop growing or stop rooting just because you change the light schedule.

I'd be curious to see how many people in this thread have actually attempted to clone under 12-12.

You are correct I have never tried to root clones on a flower cycle, but in my years of studying the plant I have read and been told that plants need to be in a vegetative cycle to produce roots,I may be wrong,I often am.

All those old rules of what you can and can't do, I probably violated them all. I think it really comes down to what your environment is like and how healthy your plants are as to what you can get away with doing. Most new growers probably wouldn't have success rooting clones and would be better off staying away from it. I've never rooted a clone off an autoflower because I think it's a waste of time, but I've seen it done many times.

I've took a clone during flower, then rooted on 12/12 then revegged her out side, safe to say it turned into a monster, without the added reveg time I'd probably do it again, she's about 60 days old from being cut and is still happy sat outside right now
