    Default Hello from the UK

Hi, I'm Fabian and live in a backward thinking place called the UK.

At 74 I think I've left it a bit late to start growing my own weed but my arthritis has become so severe lately I'm considering using cannabis to ease the pain. So why not grow it myself.

That brings me to my first question, What soil should I use. I have a book 'Growing Marijuana For Beginners' but it doesn't recommend any one brand of soil only that it should be airyated and not too acidic like composts used for growing flowers.

I've already bought some seeds from Amsterdam and designing my grow space as I write this post.

I'd be grateful if someone would point me in the right direction.

    Thanks a lot.

    Fabian. .

Welcome to the forum bud,I'm a coco man myself but there are plenty of soil guys on here.
I may switch back to soil one day especially with the time I am putting into doing up my front and back yards just now.

Hi Fabian_Pruit I started growing this time last year i'm 70 so its never too late and you get to chat with a lot of knowledgeable like minded people, I grow in soil I use biobizz light mix and add 20% perilte and 20% vermiculite and at the moment biobizz nutes. Check out some diaries and see what other people do every body is a bit different in there approach and there's a lot of growing research on the internet. Good luck with your first grow It'll hook you.

    Hi,
Thank you all for the welcome.

I'll probably go with the B&Q Verve MultiPurpose compost and add some perlite to it as its the fist grow and then see how it works out. Then I'll try something else on the next 5 seeds.

    Thanks again.

    Fabian.
