Either that or they don't like your soil. I planted into some soil that wasn't canna specific and it was wrong for my plant. That's exactly what I saw until I got it out of that soil. I also thought it looked like classic over watering I just knew that I hadn't over-watered.

Go get some descent compost and repot in smaller pot. You wont over water them so easily then.
It could be over watering but I dont like the look of the soil you used so it could be that. Mix some perlite in compost to help drainage. Water her with pure water, not tap water straight from the tap. Good luck.

Also add some Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi this will help greatly to imorove root health, (available at most garden suppliers or ebay) when you put in new soil, spray the leaves with a weak solution of liquid seaweed. This should help them recover. Good luck.
