    Default Fabric Pots - Tray?

    Hi

Those that use fabric pots, do you have to use a tray at the bottom for the water to drain and then throw that water away?

    Thanks

Yes. I found fabric pots a bit of a pain in the arse due to all the leakage

Keep airspace underneath your fabric pot.

No mate fabric pots are good, just sit then on a wire platform or anything to keep the bottom of the pot from sitting in wet conditions.

I stand them on a wire rack over a plastic bowl to catch the run off. I'm doing organic soil grow this time around so shouldn't need a lot of run off. Fabric pots are great due to the fact that the roots air prune as they hit and attempt to grow out the sides. This helps to stop them becoming root bound. I found , for this reason I don't need such large pots taking up too much room. Some leave the pots sitting in the water for a while to ensure the pots soak up into the dry parts of the soil (organic soil grow) . However never leave them in there water for long. If using coco dont let them stand in that salt filled crap at all ??

Circular wire cake stands are good, 10"/250mm dia fits a 22lt pot
