    Default Eye protection

Hi, are there any alternatives to method seven glasses to protect against the light emitted from MH bulbs? I need eye protection but I am hoping to find a set of glasses for a bit less than £180. Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert and you might want to do your own research, but you can get shade three and five welding glasses for... well I can get them for $12 US. The shades go all the way up to 14 which would be too dark to even see or down to shade three which looks like sunglasses.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if that isn't exactly what method 7 glasses are.

That's a fantastic idea, i have a set of shade 5 glasses that i use for oxy-fuel cutting and an adjustable welding mask that ranges from 9-13. I will test this over a few days and let everyone know how i get on. Thanks buddy.

I used to wear my oxy acetylene goggles inside my grow room once in awhile and I honestly can't remember what shade they are.

I think shade 5 should do the trick, i only need to block out the light while i get up close to the bulb (vertical grow) while watering the plants, I'll test them out as soon as I'm home from work. Thanks again ??

They look pretty cool, I will order a set of those from eBay and compare those to welding glasses. Thanks buddy.

I have waited a little while to update this just to see how i would feel after a few weeks and I have to say that shade 5 glasses (Bolle Bandido BANWPCC5) are my preferred choice even after switching to 4*600w HPS. A huge thanks to everyone who helped me, this forum is awesome.
