Default Plants too tall, haven’t topped yet, is it to late?

I have 2 plants that are currently too tall, since it is my first time growing, I wasn’t comfortable attempting topping with no guidance, so I just let them go, but now one is above 6ft and I’m just wondering if it’s to late to top, they sprouted may 12, so just passed 2 months old.

I now realize I have no choice but to top so the growth doesn’t continue and I don’t have 8 ftrs on my hand, if already topped my shorter ones tonight. Pics for reference.

I have taken some lower branches off, and also some leaves, but other then that I haven’t done much in the way of training, or topping. An idea of how far down the stock I could top, pending if it isn’t to late. I know I could probably only go down maybe two inches from the top at most.

Don’t have anyone to help me with this sort of thing so appreciate any replies. Thanks

P.s. not sure why my pictures are uploading sideways, I apologize for that

Pots are 16”x12” soil, compost/manure mix. I feel like an idiot for not topping them earlier, they would look so much better right now. Recently received some criticism for the way they look. I was just glad they were healthy and females to be honest. This is my first time growing. Just random bag seeds. Thanks again for taking the time to read this.

I'd do more than top them, I'd hack them back down to a more manageable size...

Agree with G on this one, super crop her at the height you want her, but support the bent over sections weight once you have.

Why the criticism? They look awesome! You can cut away if you wsnt smaller plants. Supercrop if you want a massive yield with reduced height. Plants that healthy should be able to handle whichever direction you choose.

They look like they are outside? Why would they be too tall?

Not everyone has the luxury of legal status Stealth would be my guess, even if in a legal place, less eyes the better so they don't get taken by some scruff

Really appreciate all the answers so far.
I live in Ontario, so is legal, but being outdoor 24/7 they’re open to thieves, my backyard faces a main road, not ideal for 8 ft plants

So I guess my main worry was that if I cut too low it would slow the growth or stress it to much if I went to far down, wasn’t sure.
I think I’m going to go with super cropping, Ive read some things about it here and there but not a step by step yet
