For me 10ml of bottled lemon juice in 4 ltr of water brings my ph down. I check it with ph strips

^ well when I say it did nothing I meant it didn't sort the problem out, it adjusted the PH fine.

Would be good to get any suggestions on decent soil, someone was using tropic mix on another forum who had hard water problems like me, said it was good stuff, has magnesium limestone so good for buffering & available minerals. Problem with that stuff is there is only 1 place in the UK that sells it & they are sold out.

Maybe I should ask in the organic section about making my own soil or amending some with something.

Yeh I can vouch for tropic mix, used it a few times. Think growell produce it that's why they are the only ones to sell it

If I didn't add cal/mag I got the same thing. My understanding is when flower starts they use the cal/mag for P/K uptake. I just started giving some to my grow I have now because they are
starting to stretch and show girly parts. I was not going to wait to see a deficiency before I gave it to them. I always dreaded the first couple weeks of flower until I realized this.

Not too sure on the nerdy bits but I grow much better plants in coco with my crazy hard water. Soil was a total nightmare.

My water is also EC 0.5 - I get better results in coco (but that's to be expected)

If you look on your water boards website you will be able to get a water analysis report for your area showing ppm of each element in the water.

Coco tends to do better with hard water as it naturally sucks up calcium and magnesium and holds onto them while releasing potassium. So coco helps soften your water a little as it leeches.

You could always mix coco in with your soil to help pull some of that calcium out next time. It's a great aerator and helps improve the soil

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!
