    Default Ecothrive questions

    Good Afternoon

So I've got a 70ltr block of coco coir coming tomorrow with Charge and life cycle.

Now I'm going to start my babysitter in plain coco with just water until first set of true leaves.
Whilst waiting for that I'm going to get the coco ready for transplanting.
    Now ...
My coco is plain so will be hydrating then adding the charge ,
As the plant will be young I'm thinking not to mix at the higest dose to limit the risk of burn , thinking half the higest dose maybe?
I was then thinking of using the charge as a top dress from week 3 during veg.
Then swapping over to life cycle top dressing from start of flower - I'm thinking plants should be well established so full dose of life cycle?

    Now would this be enough?
Was thinking of adding bat guano into the mix but not sure when.

If anybody has any insight into these products and how to get the most from them would be magic.

Hello mate, I've used both the charge and life cycle but in soil rather than coco - I would have thought in that medium you'd be better off with liquid feeds to be honest but it's not really my specialist subject!

What I can say is that charge/life cycle aren't really for veg/flower in the normal way - the life cycle mostly is charge, with a bunch of added trace elements that in theory would replenish a well used soil mix. It's not something I would use more than once per grow and I'm not really sure how helpful all those trace ingredients would be in coco, wouldn't they all get washed away? As far as using it as your main nutrient in flower it's likely to be short of PK, which the bat guano would help boost but again I'm not sure how well in coco?

I'm pretty sure the life cycle and charge won't be enough on its own in coco mate. Would have thought you need some liquid fertiliser too.

I'm going to grab some so if they do start showing deficiencies I'm already good to add them in.
I'd assume if I've had to add the liquid nutes in I should then forget about top dressing or adding the guano

The charge will be ok mixed through the coco . It can be a little hot so only a little bit for a young plant probably 1/3 of what they say to use
Then for the life cycle it's really only used in soil and then it really imho needs to cook within the soil for a month before use . As above I only see it being washed through your coco and go to waste. The same for the batshit guano. It's probably block the coco up and ruin its drainage properties.

But all of the above depends are you growing in coco or are growing in a coco/soil mix enriched with guano charge and lifecycle?

If ya doing either we can help but your going to need some more gear

Don't the charge need microbial action to break it down ??

Cheers bro, Was only ment to be an experimental grow whilst waiting for indoor kit .
Was planning on just coco with those amendments , seems that's not going to be the case lol
So if I start at a 3rd of the lower dose mixed thru the coco and go and get liquid nutes to add as that gets depleted.
The coco, charge and life cycle are en route so I'm stuck with those but can order other things as and when needed.
I thank you in advance for any suggestions buddy

If your going down the coco route then yes liquid nutes I'd suggest canna coco a and b
Cheap enough nutes about £20 for a litre of each and they will see you through a few grows .
But then you really need a ph pen and a ec meter to achieve the best outcome.

If you are using a you need a bag of b&q verve .
Mix ten litres or each coco verve and batshit if it's pure guano adjust mix too 12.5 litres of coco verve and 5 ltrs of guano then add charge at half the dose for 30ltrs of soil and half the dose of life cycle.
Mix and mix until you are sure it's blended together and then mix again. Leave it for a month and then start using
During this time regularly turn the mix .
The above mix is pretty hot so only a mature plant as ya pot up but the rest of the verve will serve you well up till then
