    Default Cal def?

Mornin all, so I've got this issue. Ph is sound as I've been monitoring it. Been feeding up to 2-4ml bloom every 5 days (every other water), been giving minimal amounts of magne cal due to the high N content. Having done a bit of investigating I'd say cal def because of the shitty brown stains/spots on the leaves and the fact it's started at the top? What do you reckon? Should I give double the amount of magne cal today maybe? Due a feed today

    The magne cal

    The bloom

What amounts of MagneCal have you previously been feeding, MrC?

It's very strong stuff. I used 1ml/litre the first time I used it and had a calcium excess in hours.

Used under 1/2 ml per ltr to begin with, just the tip , the up to 1/2 ml then 1ml per ltr. Not had it every feed, every other so I'd say every 4th watering it gets magne cal

You’re in a hard water location though, right??

Are you sure you even need extra calcium?

Dunno mate, should probably look in to it more tbf. I was adding it mainly for mag tbf, thought for a while the spots were a ph issue. I'll hold off on it for now as it's not doing a lot by the looks, just give it some mag granules I've got.

Have a look at your local water company's webpage, MrC and see if you can do an online search for the breakdown of its contents.

The mean calcium in my water is 12mg per litre and is approx 6x less than a healthy plant needs - soft water.

There are people in hard water areas in 3 figures - 100mg+ - that never need to supplement that mineral. By adding more, my guess is you are having an excess...easily done.

Can't even see calcium on there mate. Is it called something else? I did the water hardness report for my area, lists a lot but not calcium. Am I being thick?
