Default Grow Location and Air Quality

Hi guys and gals, need some help.

Have just moved and have some space to set up a personal grow. The space in question is a cellar/basement (whatever you call it). The issue i have is, i cannot see any air bricks from the inside but there are some when looking from the outside of the building. Also, i have a max height of 5ft (tight)

Am i going to have issues with air quality?
Will i be ok recirculating the air with no direct access to air brick?
Am i going to have issues with height? (I will be growing auto's only, LST?)

Any other advise would be great!

    My Plan:

    3ft x 3ft Tent
    MH TS2000
Living Soil (Could use some advise on this as i'm UK and all i can find online is US suppliers)
    FastBud Auto's
    4in Exhaust System with Carbon

Aim - 3oz and up, per cycle

    Appreciate all advise possible!

    Thanks!

All you can really do is give it a try, I would not recommend growing more than one plant starting out. They can give off a lot of moisture once they're mature and if that moisture stays in your basement you can have issues with mold.

3 oz a harvest should be very achievable with one plant from the fast buds lineup.

Cheers Jingo, Its going to be a lot of money to give it a go but i guess its the only way i will find out! I will be able to leave the basement hatch open for about 4hours a day, most days, so hoping that will help a bit!

Hey, There are some mold resistant strains available too..
Quality of air is definitely affected. Can u make a hole urself? I'm having many challenges growing it in good condition lol give it a try anyways... Good luck

5ft height is ample, but as has been said, air transfer is going to be a problem.

Can you poke the air brick from the outside and see what's blocking it? I wonder if the air bricks are above a suspended ceiling in the basement?

The basement has been tanked with a liner, going to do some poking around, through the air brick from outside. If i can find a way to it, the plan is to get a plate made slightly larger than the air brick, with a duct adaptor fitted, screw it over the air brick and have an intake fan on the other end.

    I hope this works as i have just made my first purchase, 120cm x 60cm x 150cm tent and a M.H TSL2000

I would suggest taking some humidity readings down there before you spend any money.
Although my cellar wasn’t tanked I found after spending a lot of money it was too far too humid.
The extraction fan drew water up through the floor so it was always wet.
    Just something to consider.

I grow in a mouldy ol’ cellar, have been for many years!

You’ll definitely need to find a way of getting dry air in there or your buds will rot. I have a 4” intake fan that sucks air in from my front porch (indoors). The extractor fan just blows out into the cellar.

    A few pointers...

-Try to buy a tent without a back vent- the less holes the better.

-Find somewhere to cut a hole and run a piece of preferably foil ducting to an in-line fan. (Passive intake won’t be enough.

-If there’s likely to be any bugs where your vent is, add a bug screen over the vent or you’ll be blowing bugs into your tent.

-Keep the screen clean! They block up with dust after a month or so.

-Leave the intake and extraction fan on 24/7

You can hear the in fans when the TV is off, so that’s another thing to consider.

    Hope this helps,

    Vlad.

    Sorry, just read this post!

Are you in the uk? Just thinking... sucking air in from the outside is pretty fookin cold in the winter.
