Drying

I was told not to water the last 3-4 days before chop , and I’m on day five drying been hot an humid .I think I’m ahead of schedule no direct fan . Does no water help?

I've done that a couple times, I think I abandoned it because it was harder trimming limp flowers. It does speed up the drying time a little bit though, every plant is different on how long it takes you can't really go by anybody's number of days.

The theory is that the dryness will produce more trichomes in the last few days and I do believe it is Bro Science imo. It is dryer air that will push the plant to defend its self with more trichs through out its life cycle , not dryer roots It's not a quick process tho.

By not feeding it you are starving the plant denying it the chemical elements it needs to ... yep, produce more trichomes.

A plant starved of water for a few days before harvest will dry out quicker than if its full of water. You want it to dry as slowly as possible for best taste once harvested.

Thanks for asking this m8 and for answering lads, helped me a lot before I chop mine coz the last couple of times I’ve let them dry out and i bet that’s why the bastards have dried so fast

I've heard all this theory on this... and it kinda sounds good, until you wonder why it has taken the other trichomes weeks & weeks to develop & mature & if you could somehow get around the flowering stage totally... I can't see a couple of days making any significant difference

I'm all for letting a plant dry before chop but I think 3/4 days is just going to kill it - it would with mine

Slow dry allows = smooth smoke. I would not want a dry plant that dries quick. I let her drink until chop

Got to agree with the lads here, I used to try get it dry as quick as possible then when I started out... subsequent harvests smelled of wet hay. Slowed the whole process down by hanging the whole plant minus the big fans and I've never had the wet hay smell again.

As for producing a burst of trics at the end... wont they all be underdeveloped since they only had a few days to mature?

Thanks guys , i was only watering the plant every 4 days .plain an simple that's what it like so really instead of watering i chopped? an i think it is a lil ahead of time smoked the sugar leafs i trimmed the other day an very smooth an got a good buzz but it was a big joint
