    Default Proper novice questions

Looking through the supplementation thread I see all the products, but I have some novice questions. How big a difference do supplements make? Is it worth properly investing in them? And what would you say are the most important supplements to use? I've seen about additives to increase the bio of the bacteria that aid growth etc, but I've also seen a lot of people slag off canna products as overpriced and not always helpful. Tbf, they could also be using them completely wrong so that would obviously skew their opinion of them!

All depends what medium, what your water reads what country your in, I've only ever used old timers in soil, and canna range in coco

I think this is a little tricky to anwser because we all have our own favourites and ways of growing....some might say it makes ALL the difference in the world to their growing, and others who feel that's it's a cash grab.

The best advice I think I can give you is don't go rushing in and purchasing multiple products at once..do your research (Bud Lightyear has listed some great ones in this section alone), then experiment as you go...you will find your favourites and what works for you.

The worst thing new growers can do is purchasing loads of different products which are sometimes at the advice of a grow shop who is looking to grab your cash, take your time

I'm exclusively soil atm, just tried mixing perlite in for the first time. Haven't done enough research on coco yet to try it

Yeah I saw some of the posts Bud put up, and I've researched a couple of them. There's a lot of product on the market. I suppose any additive is better than no additive at this point. So far I've used basic nutes and standard soil. I've just moved onto a perlite mixture of 25% with john innes added compost. Am now looking for specific nutes and supplements that can help. The main problem is, as you say, everyone has their own opinions and thus I'm finding loads of contradicting info for the same products. Will have to make an informed decision and see what happens!
