Long time grower told me a mild amber trichome is heady and darker is body...Best of luck

Clear, milky and amber give different effects and those effects can vary from person to person. For me, clear feels like it doesn't work. Me doing extra well on puzzle games is just a coincidence. Amber has me glued to the couch...oh the music has stopped...I'll see to that later...
To learn what suits you best, take a snip test and quick dry it. Just enough for 1 or 2 single skinners. Repeat that snip test every week until you see lots of amber. Then you'll know for all of your future grows.

More Amber the better, if u are everyday stoner then amber but if sunday smoker then I'd say full milky. Gl

Very nice trichome shot The difficulty you're having is where you look to check your trichomes. Your pictures are mostly out on the leafy bits on sweet leafs what you need to do is get in tighter on the flower right down on a calyx and then you'll get a more accurate idea of what your trichomes are looking like, anything from cloudy on is perfect for harvesting.

[QUOTE=JohnDoeCanSeed;1071113557] Im all about the head high
/QUOTE]
Same here. I'm sedentary enough without the couchlock.
What I do with a new strain is have a thorough look at the trics once a week from week 8 onward. When I see one amber tric on any plant, they all get chopped and that's how many weeks flowering they get if I grow them again.
I don't see it as losing yield. I see it as getting exactly what I want and none of what I don't want.

Ok, so I did as requested and photographed the top buds.
To add again, I want the cloudy trichomes/heady high. The plant is a Royal Haze Auto on week 14 (have flowered for 8-9 weeks). My confusion is this:
1: The top part of the plant looks good to the naked eye. All white hairs turned brown and curled in. But lower parts have some buds with white hairs.
2: When I look through the microscope I see some amber and some clear and some cloudy. Its hard for me to determine whats what, except for the amber parts ofc.
My gut tells me to cut my baby down and start operation harvest. HELP A ROOKIE OUT PLEASE Thanks for all the help people!
