    Default Foliar feeding

Hi folks, I was wondering how foliar feeding works when nutrients in the soil have to be broken down by microbes to make it available to the plant? I swear by foliar feeding liquid seaweed but have never understood how it works. I know about Stomata etc it's just their capability to take nutrients directly through the leaves that I cant seem to find any info on. Many thanks Bud G.

Its just that....stomata. once the plants stomatas open. The plant gets what it needs from a foliar feed quicker than what it would uptaking it from the roots. Thats the best thing about a foliar feed. Its quick response especially when treating deficiencies. I only ever really foliar feed a magnesium supplement.

Thanks Rasta. After some thought I remembered about chelated nutes That the plant can take directly. I'm assuming that foliar feeding is only effective if the nutes used are in a chelated form.
