    Default Let battle commence!

Having failed a few times with my AK GummyGun seeds, it's time for a concerted effort!

The seeds are best part of 10 year old & it's at least 5 year since I successfully germinated one... I've been playing around with them & am starting to think the issue is the shell not opening (or not properly) as I often have had a little 'gunk' appear on the seam of the shell case.

OK, out with the dremel & I have cut down into the seed shell - I tried extracting the kernel on a few but always damaged them... so I've just heavily cut into the seam... see what happens!

I've only started with one (they are regulars) - let's see how we get on...

With old seeds like this . I covered the inside of a match book with 400 grit wet and dry sandpaper then tossed the seeds in and gave them a good shake until the seed cases had a good amount of scuffing to them and then germed them as normal
