Was reading about this just now. And is there benefits of using hydrogen peroxide in the tank from what I read I believe so. Can anyone explain it at all thanks.

I used to use it in my DWC during tank changes. I would put around a half cup per 3 gallons of water each plant during cleaning. I was using RO water and let them sit in there for about a hour while bubbling away or so only during change. I found it helps with the oxygenation of the water and cleaning the root ball, especially the spider roots which can get really clogged up in hydro right under the core. I believe the rate was a TBL per gallon. It really spruced up the plants, although it became a real pain to keep the nutrient levels/ph because it flushed the RB, although it did helped. I eventually gave up full hydro, just too much work.

Before I adopted the use of SM-90, which you can't buy anymore, I used H2O2 food grade about 30%. Seems to me I put it in at the rate of about 2 mil per gallon and the intent was to kill off negative bacteria before they can get a start. It works real well for that and can help you keep your res clear if you're right on the edge temperature wise. I never used a chiller I always kept my buckets down on a concrete floor and I had occasional root rot issues without using something. My favorite was SM90 It was sulfonated coriander oil it smelled very good. It's been replaced with something I can't remember the name that is sulfonated canola oil and it's so expensive that I can't see anybody buying it anymore.

People do use mixtures of beneficial microbes, I've never tried that and I have no idea how well it works. Then there are some companies out there that sell their own products for hydro and if you dig in deep you'll find out they're just selling H2O2.

It's basically water with an extra Oxygen attached to it. Its very volatile and can drop that extra oxygen real quick. So.... pour some in your water and stir.... hey presto instant dissolved oxygen in your water.

Hydrogen peroxide helps encourage healthy root growth because of the extra oxygen molecule. Oxygen can help plant roots absorb nutrients from the soil. Therefore, this extra bit of oxygen better enables the roots to absorb more nutrients, which means faster, healthier, and more vigorous growth. And as a bonus, hydrogen peroxide can help discourage unwanted bacteria/fungi that may be lurking in the garden. To give plants an added boost of oxygen or for pest control using the 3% solution, add 1 teaspoon per cup of water in a spray bottle and mist the plant. This amount is also suitable for pre-treating seeds to control fungal infections. For plants with root rot or fungal infections, use 1 tablespoon per cup of water. The solution can be made up and stored for future use, but be sure to store it in a cool, dark place as exposure to light diminishes the potency.

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

Cheers for the input. Sounds like it could be beneficial maybe give it a try in the next couple of grows and see.

I wouldn't run without some kind of inoculate in the reservoir and that's probably the most common.

right on J, I kept my buckets on concrete as well, and yes, food grade h202 was easier to find then and thanks for mentioning that. If I do recall, regular h202 can be used as I did only during the cleaning stages, those root balls get really nasty. and food grade was used in my res. while the yields were spectacular, it just became too much to keep the water cool. I had air cooled hoods, I did finally get a portable air conditioner, yet in those days being in closets and micro's were a pain. Oh lordy, I don't miss them but they were always keeping me on my feet...LOL
