Default Soil or coco? Brands and nutrients help please

I was wondering what people would recommend for a first time grow? Im looking at doing photos and just need a bulletproof medium and nutrients range to use and there's so many products to choose from

Canna coco pro plus and canna coco nutes...Easy enough to use however you will need a pH & Ec meter to measure your nutrient solution...Or you could go with compost. B&Q Verve compost or plant magic soil supreme with plant magic oldtimers grow & bloom nutes...

Thanks for taking the time to reply, moneys not too much of an issue so can afford pH and ec meters what appeals to me about cocoa is it seems easier to mix and add the nutrients too? I'm in the UK and have some of the hardest water in the country.. Could you please link me to some grow diaries using coco or if that's not allowed and anyone could share they're experiences be great
I'm off searching on here for the best soliton for me

Ever since trying coco (and being mentored by the main man Bud Lightyear himself) as a soil grower my whole life, I would recommend every grower to at least try coco once..

The complete control you have with coco is just so damn nice in comparison to soil, plants are bigger, respond quicker, yields are generally much better and after doing a comparison grow of the same strain twice, once in soil and the other in coco, I can safely say the coco buds tasted just as good if not better than the soil grown girls!, yields were just shy of double that of soil.

The negative in my opinion is (if hand watering) that it's a daily thing, you need to water every day at the minimum so you'll be shifting about plenty of water weekly.

But boy is it worth it if you can!

    Thanks for the input buddy

Watering daily isn't too much of a hassle for me as I mainly work from home

Yields a big one for me as I don't plan on going mad with plant numbers and space is very limited so looking for best results from 5 plants and I like the idea of coco being more neutral than soil and having more control.. My only real question is pH and ec? I researched all this few months ago now its time to ordering my minds gone blank... My 1 concern is order of mixing nutrients and my tap water is terrible

Yep I was the same..was seeing these EC and PH numbers flying around the forum and couldn't get my head around it..but once I started I soon realised how easy it really was, having a mentor certainly helps, perhaps that's something to think about when starting?

You're welcome and yep my tap water is terrible too, very hard indeed!

If your offering your knowledge my ears are always open

Do you use a perlite mix or just pure coco? I'm looking at some of these 70/30 perlite mixes and wondering if there's much need..

Thanks will be reading those and watching more on YouTube again

Oh no, I'm not a mentor here on the forum, but we do have a request section if when the time comes you would like one to help guide you (and one is available)

I used straight coco on the advice of my mentor, many mix in perlite, growers preference really.

Looking real good!! What cheese are you running? I've looking into big Buddha cheese as used to get that years ago and I've not had any cheese my way for a good 2 maybe 3 even 4 years now, miss that dark pungest beast.
