I do know some use an automated system which basically has a 'brain' and a pump that collects all the runoff into one bucket ready for you to dispose of...lets see if I can find an example.
They are great mate.. i have the medusa system, but there is the rhizosystem aswell

Im on my second run now, with a fully automated setup (automated drainage and automated feeding) the girls are getting plenty of feed and run off. Once you buy an EC meter you end up using far less nutes than without because it makes you realise if you use the reccomended doses for feed it is WAYYY to high to what they need. They "was" looking a lot healthier than my previous run, until my drippers messed up and was incorrectly feeding a couple of the girls and flooding the rest.

I think the problem is, without disposing of run off, if you dont keep a good eye on the girls, they can easily be sat in extremely high EC feed.

    Very helpful

I plan on getting an ec pen etc all way before I start and have done a couple grows years and years ago, I never go with what the bottles say, maybe 1/4 or half and take it from there, very first ever attempt I had some very badly burned girls from all the nutes haha

I don't mind the run off sitting and collecting for a day or so I was just concerned id have so much water coming out the other end the trays would over flow and cause a mess, think I got given some crazy numbers and thought I'd be flooding my place every day haha

Look at the Rhizosystem or Medusa system mate.

Ive plumbed mine into my waste pipe, so when the brain collects the run off, it activates a water level switch and pumps it straight into my drainage pipe

Yeh Ive been using advanced nutrients, and im literally using 1/3rd of the reccomended feed levels

    Thanks great stuff

Yeah I was looking into the same system just yesterday I believe, it can come with or without the 'brain' so to speak, I'm not bothered about everything being crazy automated was just concerned about too much run off flooding the place whilst I weren't home, I did see some good trays that filled up and then the water went back to a small resoviour through gravity then pumped off elsewhere, bit too complicated for my needs I just need some gravity to pull or the run off into a big waste bucket I think and hand watering not much of a problem I'm always home it's just lugging that water around daily seems a task I can see the benifits to having a big resoviour filled every week or 2 and then dripper fed.. Hmmm decisions decisions haha

Ive found the hardest thing is controlling that each pot gets the same amount of feed, it seems like the closest ones to the pump get more feed, annoying so I need to find a solution for my next run

Personally, if I was to go with a system like that, I'd go drain only, not really interested in the automated watering side of things, but I get why people do

If somebody selling a light says 'more yield', they get believed. Why would they lie?

If somebody selling nutes says 'This dosage works'...lying bastards, they just want us to use more nutes.

In 11 litre fabric pots i get through 3 or 4 litres a day in late flower. I do 2 at a time in a mini wardrobe. The drawer section is below the growing section so hollowed it out and have my 15 litre feed jug below. Auto Watering kit feeds them just over a litre every 8 hrs. Plants are sat on raised mesh in a big buffet tray. Plug added to the tray and pipe drains to the outside... though im lucky thats an option.

Good luck with your grow dude
